dc.description.abstract | Regarding industrial dispute after workers of the GEC Alsthom issued a strike notice, and resorted to tool down strike from 06-09-95 against the management to meet their demands relating to medical insurance scheme for family members, change in shift timings, absorption of contract labour, payment of bonus, etc. Terms of the settlement include establishing a medical insurance scheme for family members to a sum of Rs. 2400 per annum (which includes the already existing Rs. 800 provided towards medical reimbursement), issue of shift timings to be taken up by the Joint Commissioner of Labour, contract labour to be absorbed as 'company casual labour' from 01-11-95, management to pay additional sum of Rs. 1500 to each worker, and eligible workmen to be paid 20% bonus for 1994-95, etc. | en_US |
