dc.description.abstractInterview and profile of A. Satyanarayana, retired worker and AITUC union leader at Vizag Shipyard. He entered ITI at an early stage and learnt plumbing. Then joined a job in the shipyard. Joined CITU accidentally, after coming under the influence of union leader Krishnamurthy from Tamilnadu. Contested the shipyard union and won as General Secretary. Led victorious struggle of the workers in 1967 for 56 days against Indira Gandhi government, who had to concede to the union demands.en_US
