Abstract: This file contains correspondence providing important historical information in the sense that – there is a West Bengal Govt.’s notification on the details of giving minimum wages to employees employed in agriculture. An enumeration of West Bengal Govt.’s proposals in this regard is given. The second document is a secondary source paper cutting of December 15, 1974 that provides an important information regarding West Bengal Govt. creating a Wage Cell for Farm Sector in the Ministry of Labour which will deal with the problem of fixing wages for organized and unorganized sector workers in agriculture and industry. The paper cutting given other information of Interim Report on Wage Policy being prepared by eminent economist Sukhamoy Chakravarty and an expert committee to create a National Gratuity Fund; ongoing work to create an Industrial Relation Bill and PDS for agricultural labourer in rural areas.
